How to use the strategy

Only use spare capital and cap the number of averaging levels. Add a trade every time price falls one level, close the whole basket when the average TP is reached.

STEP_PCT=2MAX_ORDERS=8TP_PCT=3

How it works

When price moves against the position, the system opens more trades at lower levels to lower the average entry price, then closes the whole basket once price recovers to the take-profit level. This mechanism trades a high win rate for a large tail risk.

What each parameter means

STEP_PCT 2
Open another level every time price falls 2%.
MAX_ORDERS 8
The cap on the number of levels. This is the most important parameter: it decides the maximum loss of the whole basket.
TP_PCT 3
Take-profit is calculated on the basket's average entry price, not on each trade.

When it fits, when it struggles

Fits when: The market oscillates around a zone and tends to recover after each drop.

Struggles when: A prolonged downtrend. Price moves one way through every allowed level, and the whole basket is then in loss together.

Common mistakes

Raising the level cap when the basket is in loss. That does not save the basket; it only pushes the account blow-up further out.

To judge a strategy by its numbers rather than its description, read the six numbers to check in a backtest report.
